In 2012, we were part of the Cultural Olympiad with a Devoted & Disgruntled Roadshow that visited 27 locations across the UK, connecting issues for theatre and performing arts practitioners from Inverness to Plymouth. Film-maker Ragnar Friedank documented the journey.

When I was 40, I was naughty, Soon I shall be 50…..

When I was 40, I was naughty, Soon I shall be 50….. I called this session at D&D yesterday for a few reasons. Back in 2009, a few women who I looked up to called a session about harnessing the power of the beyond 50s, and in my early 40s as I was, my heart sank a bit.
Where we've been

Over the past decade, we've held over 100 D&D events all over the country (and beyond!).
Verbatim Theatre Ethics

This session was looking at ethics related to the use of other people's stories/testimonies in making theatre. We also ended up discussing verbatim techniques. There were two people (myself - Amy Golding and Ben) making verbatim shows with care leavers. One around politics and one around mental health and immigration. We discussed the importance of anonymity of the people sharing their stories with us due to safeguarding and potential repercussions amongst peers or with service providers.
